[email protected] Read BioMarie is a Vice-President overseeing the consumer insolvency practice in Calgary. She obtained her designation as a Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional (CIRP) in 1992 and her license as a federally Licensed Insolvency Trustee (LIT) in 1993.
Marie has over 30 years of experience in the insolvency field. For most of these years Marie has worked exclusively in assisting individuals and small businesses to resolve their financial difficulties. Her innovative and supportive approach has helped her clients start fresh through proposals to creditors and other restructurings. Marie has successfully negotiated reduction of personal tax debts with Canada Revenue Agency for hundreds of individuals.
Marie is dedicated to empowering Albertans by informing them of options to resolve their financial difficulties and giving them the opportunity to make a fresh start and start a new chapter in their lives.
Marie is a member of the Canadian Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals (CAIRP) and serves on the Board of the Alberta Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals (AAIRP). Over the course of her career, Marie has been a speaker at various conferences and forums in Calgary including the CPA-Small Practitioners Conference in Banff and the Law Society Legal Education program. Marie has also organized and made various presentations for banks credit unions and stakeholder associations on the consumer insolvency process.

She has been in the consumer insolvency industry since 2016 and prior to that spent six years in the non-profit credit counselling industry. Nicole is committed to helping people resolve their financial difficulties through creative and practical solutions. With a background in education, Nicole provides clients with a holistic view and creative solutions for their debt issues while educating them on personal finance to help them succeed at rebuilding their finances.
Nicole understands that struggling with debt can take an emotional toll on a person, which is why she ensures that each client is treated with compassion, respect and grace while navigating their solutions. It is important to Nicole that each client feels like they have been heard in a non-judgemental environment.
Nicole is actively involved in financial coaching and poverty reduction in the Greater Calgary area. She has been the Financial Coaching Course creator and Facilitator for Bow Valley College and Carya since 2017.
Nicole spends her volunteer time as Board Chair for Sunrise Community Link and Bow West Community Resource Centre. In her spare time, Nicole can be found hiking in Banff with her furry sidekick Aldo.

When Sharon initially speaks with individuals facing a consumer proposal or bankruptcy, she understands that they might feel like they do not deserve respect because of their financial difficulties. Sharon always tries to focus on the positive: the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act exists to give people a fresh start and there is no need to feel ashamed. Seeing people go from being overwhelmed with debt to debt free is one of the most rewarding aspects of her job, along with them telling her how much their life has improved. People often tell Sharon that it’s like a weight has been lifted off their shoulders and they can breathe again.
When she is not working, you will likely find Sharon walking her dogs by the river or in the backyard feeding the squirrels and the birds.
